My 23rd Birthday Bash

Let me start by saying that I have the best husband...ever! I feel like it's not a typical "man" thing for a husband to not only remember that his wife's birthday is coming up but to also plan a fantastic party, organize a GREAT group gift (that I will blog about later), print out beautiful invitations, plan the menu, plus spend a ton of time the day before and the day of preparing. But let me tell you...Eric did! He is amazing!

Sue and Jeff let us invade their house on the Saturday before my birthday for a fantastic party, and did I mention that Eric planned it all? Eric made 3 different kinds of gourmet hot dogs, that were delicious!




We had to get a picture of Kollin enjoying his hot dog. He loves hot dogs and I'm pretty sure he ate all of this one.



Then we had cookies and cream cupcakes and ice cream that were also wonderful. Sarah made them specially for me because cookies and cream is my favorite! Thanks again Sarah!






Claire and Carter made me this very special birthday crown.



Then the boys wrestled, and all the kids played "Mother May I?."






Once the sun went down we all sat around the fire pit and visited and played a game. I couldn't have asked for a better party or better company. I'm so lucky to have such a loving family who came to celebrate with me!


I got to continue the celebrating because my actual birthday wasn't until Tuesday. I wish I had gotten some pictures of all this, but I didn't, so here is what I did:
On my actual birthday Shonda got a babysitter for all the kids and she took me to Red Robin for lunch and then to get pedicures. It's not very often that just she and I get to spend time together so this truly was a birthday treat! I so appreciated her taking time out of her busy schedule to spend time with me on my birthday. I love her, and truly cherish the friendship we have. It's nice now that we've gotten older because the age gap between us doesn't seem quite like it did when we were growing up. Thanks Sis, for a wonderful afternoon!

Later on that night after we had gone down to visit Grandpa Hancock at his rehab center, (he is recovering from a broken shoulder, a cracked rib, and a broken hip which needed surgery) we met my Dad, Konner and Sami and Claim Jumper for dinner.

Since my Mom was in Hawaii during the week of my birthday, she celebrated with me the week before. We went to lunch and then she took me to get my eyebrows waxed, which was greatly needed and much appreciated!
